17/04/2007 Blackpool 2nds Expelled
Blackpool 2nds have been expelled from the Miller Homes div 5N. The wording from the league web site as follows

"After a detailed investigation of Blackpool it has been found that they deliberately misinformed the league of the events that led to the game between their 2nds and Lostock 1sts not being played. They informed the League officers that a coach had broken down on the motorway to Lostock when in fact there was no coach and no team travelling. Because of this and also the fact that it was their 4th concede they have now been expelled from the Leagues. Apparently their motive was to try and stay in the leagues."

Disasterously for Lostock, this means that instead of finishing the season in a potential 2nd place (should Garstang 2s win their final games) we will finish 3rd, outside the promotion spot. Pendle win this situation ironically because they lost at Blackpool. Lostock and Garstang lose out because both teams have taken maximum points from Blackpool.

10/04/2007 Crucial Game
This Saturday (14th April) sees Lostocks' final league game of the 2006/2007 season in the Miller Homes Div 5N entertaining Blackpool in what could see Lostock promoted should a win be secured. It is also the final league game to be played at the current Bae Sports fields, home to Lostock Rugby for some 50 years.

12/03/2007 Lostock Agree Move
Due to the development of Bolton Wanderers academy on the BAE grounds, and after years of negotiations and fighting off threaten closure, Lostock Sports Club have now agreed to move to amalgamate with Ladybridge Sports Club also based in Lostock.

Last March, (2006) outline plans were approved for the BW academy which will have 13 football pitches and changing facilities for players aged 8 to 17. The existing Lostock Sports club, which has facilities for rugby, cricket, bowls and football at the old BAE Lostock site, will be moved to Ladybridge as part of the scheme.

The existing Ladybridge pavilion will be extended to provide for the increased usage and a new cricket pitch laid. A new pavilion built for the bowls section which will also provide toilet and changing facilities for rugby and football.

Although Lostock cricket section are not expected to play their first game on the new site until summer 2008, the rugby section will be expecting to play their first games of the 2007/2008 season there in September 2007.

With Lostock Rugby Club now poised for promotion from Miller Homes Div 5N, we will be delighted to welcome new players at the new site next season to strengthen our player base and put Lostock Rugby 1st XV back into the RFU leagues.
